- Early check-in and late checkout fees
How much should I charge for early check-in or late checkout?
Many hosts give an hour or so free when nobody arrives or leaves that day, charge a share of the nightly rate for longer, and charge a full night when the change blocks another booking. Three extra hours on a $240 night works out at about $30, or $45 on a same-day turnover.

How to set and sell it
- Decide your free window: many hosts allow an extra hour or so either side at no charge when no other guest is affected.
- Price longer changes by the hours, with the calculator below, and charge more when the change squeezes a same-day turnover.
- Treat anything past half a day as a night, because the place can't be sold to anyone else.
- Confirm with your cleaner before you say yes, and check the calendar for the stay before and after.
- Show the price where guests book: as a paid extra on your direct booking page and in your guest guide, so guests can pay before they arrive.

When a guest buys early check-in or late checkout as a paid extra through StayPerk, StayPerk keeps 10% from November 1, 2026 and pays the card fee itself. These rates apply to purchases made from November 1, 2026. Earlier purchases keep the rates in force when they were made: 5% on add-ons, 10% on services, and no fee on invoices. Paid extras must cost at least CA$10.
For a stay booked on Airbnb, check Airbnb's pricing and payment policy before you take payment anywhere else. It allows optional fees to be paid offline only with the guest's agreement, and its help page says payment for optional amenities should be sent on Airbnb.

Frequently asked questions
Should early check-in be free?
An hour or so is often free when nobody checks out that morning, and it earns good reviews. Charge when it costs you something: a rushed clean, an extra cleaner visit, or a night you can't sell.
What if another guest checks out that morning?
Only say yes once your cleaner confirms the clean can finish earlier, and charge more for it. If it can't, offer luggage storage or an early arrival time later in the day instead.
What is the lowest price for a paid extra on StayPerk?
Paid add-ons and services must cost at least CA$10. Free extras are fine.
