A cleaner opens the Cedar Point Cabin checklist link and taps Open camera, takes a kitchen photo that StayPerk stamps with the property, Sun, 25 Oct 2026, 2:14 PM EDT, Verified by StayPerk and photo code 7KQ4-M2XD, then the host's turnover report shows the photos with their times and codes.

See it live

Open a sample report for a made-up cabin: every task, each photo stamped with the time and a code, and a problem the cleaner reported. Tap a photo's code to check it, as a guest or Airbnb would. Cleaner links come free with your account.

Quick answer

Proof that holds up

Share one cleaner link per property. Your cleaner opens it on their phone, ticks your checklist and takes photos with the camera. Each photo gets a banner with the property, the time it reached StayPerk and a photo code. StayPerk keeps the original and its fingerprint, and anyone can check the code at stayperk.com/v/ followed by the code. You get a printable report for every clean.

Why turnover photos matter

When a guest leaves damage, or says the place was dirty on arrival, the answer usually comes down to evidence. Airbnb decides damage requests by reviewing the evidence the host provides. Photos taken at check-out and again after the clean, with a time you can trust, show what state the place was in and when.

A time on a phone photo is easy to doubt, because a phone's clock can be changed and photos can be edited. StayPerk records the time each photo reached its server, not the phone's time, and keeps a fingerprint (SHA-256) of the file. A copy that has been edited no longer matches StayPerk's record.

How it works

  1. On Turnovers or the Calendar in StayPerk, tap Send to cleaner. Your phone's share sheet opens with a ready message and the property's cleaner link, or you can copy it, text it, send it on WhatsApp or by email, or show a QR code. The link lists every coming turnover, with same-day changeovers flagged.
  2. Cleaning yourself? Tap Take photos now on Turnovers. Today's checklist opens on your phone, or a desktop shows a QR code to scan, so you can walk round before guests arrive and take the same time-stamped photos.
  3. Set your checklist once. It starts from the rooms in your guest manual. No task needs a photo unless you choose it.
  4. The cleaner opens the turnover on their phone and taps Open camera. The camera opens inside the page, and they tap the shutter as often as they like while they walk through; choosing a room is optional. Photos upload in the background. They can add their location as extra proof. A blurry or wrong photo can be deleted and retaken until the clean is marked done; the report notes that a photo was deleted.
  5. Report a problem: a stain, a breakage or a missing item goes to you by email straight away, with a note and photos.
  6. When every task is ticked and each required photo is in, the cleaner marks the clean done. You get an email with the report, and from then on that record stays as it is.
  7. A second clean the same day, or your own check before guests arrive, starts a new checklist for that day with its own photos and report. The finished one is kept unchanged.
  8. Print the report or save it as a PDF when you need to show a guest, Airbnb or an insurer.

What each photo records

  • A banner across the bottom: the property, the date and time in the property's time zone, Verified by StayPerk and a photo code.
  • The same details written into the photo file itself.
  • Fingerprints of the original upload and of the copy StayPerk keeps.
  • How far from the property the photo was taken, if the cleaner shares their location.
  • The phone's own time, so a clock that is wrong shows up in the report.

Compared with paid cleaning apps

Cleaning apps such as Turno offer photo checklists inside their app; Turno is free for one property, then charges a monthly fee per property from the second when you bring your own cleaner. StayPerk's checklist is free, runs in the phone's browser with no app or account for the cleaner, and works with the cleaner you already have.

Frequently asked questions

Does my cleaner need an app or an account?

No. They open the link you send in their phone's browser. The camera opens from the page.

What if I clean the place myself?

Tap Take photos now on the Turnovers page. Your photos are stamped and kept in a report just like a cleaner's. If the cleaner has already finished that day, yours goes in a new checklist beside theirs.

What if a photo comes out wrong?

Until the clean is marked done, the cleaner can tap the bin on a photo to delete it, or delete it and retake it. Its code stops working and the report says a photo was deleted, without keeping the image. Once the clean is marked done, photos can't be deleted.

What if the place is cleaned twice in one day?

Each clean gets its own checklist. After one is marked done, Start a new checklist opens the next one for the same day, and your reports list them by number and time.

Can a photo's time be changed?

The time on the banner comes from StayPerk's server when the photo arrives, not from the phone. StayPerk keeps the original and its fingerprint, so an edited copy no longer matches the record at stayperk.com/v/ and the photo code.

Who can see the photos?

You, from your report. Each photo's code opens StayPerk's copy and its record for anyone you give it to, without guest names or booking details.

Is it free?

Yes. Cleaner links, checklists, photos and reports are free.
