Manage availability and calendar
Sync calendars and maintain accurate availability.
For service providers, hosts and property managers ยท Updated September 30, 2026
What this is
Calendar setup helps prevent conflicts and missed commitments.
When to use it
Use this before and during active bookings.
Steps
- Open Calendar from your Host, Service Provider, or Property Manager sidebar.
- Connect Google Calendar and choose Sync now, or open ICS Feeds and add a public https:// feed URL.
- To save a Google calendar for automatic refresh and supported booking updates, choose Change calendar and Save calendar selection. If the calendar list is unavailable, choose Use primary calendar to explicitly select your connected Google account's Primary calendar.
- Choose Save ICS feeds after changing the feed list, then Sync now to import events.
- To remove a feed, choose Remove feed and then Save ICS feeds. You can also remove and save the final feed.
- Review the last sync status and keep weekly availability and manual blocks up to date in each role.
- To stop Google synchronization, expand Google Calendar and choose Disconnect. To separately revoke the permission granted to StayPerk, use the third-party connections page in your Google Account.
What to expect
- Availability changes flow into scheduling decisions.
- Google Calendar and ICS connections are shared across enabled roles on your own StayPerk account. Weekly availability, manual blocks, and property access remain specific to each role.
- Imported calendar events can include cached titles and descriptions in your calendar views. Public availability results use busy periods without exposing those imported titles or descriptions.
- Disconnect removes the saved Google connection credential and calendar selection and clears the active imported Google busy events across your roles. It does not delete events in Google Calendar, cancel bookings, or remove other calendar feeds.
- Sync now reads your selected Google calendar, or Primary if you have not selected one. Using Primary for manual sync does not save a calendar selection or enable booking event writes. Use primary calendar saves that selection and enables automatic refresh and the supported booking updates described below. Google and ICS can remain connected together.
- With an active Google connection and a saved calendar selection, supported Service Provider bookings can create a Google event when confirmed, update the linked event when booking times change, and remove it when cancelled. Existing linked events keep their original calendar target if you later change your selection. This does not export every role's bookings to Google. Connecting or reconnecting does not automatically recover earlier missing events, so check both the booking and Google Calendar when synchronization is delayed or fails.
- New paid service-provider bookings also sync to the property's current claimed Host when that Host has an active owner membership, an enabled Host account, and a connected Google calendar with a saved selection. Host events include the service, booking times and a Host booking link; they omit guest contact details. A Host who is also the booking's Service Provider receives one event on that StayPerk account. Existing Host events keep their original calendar for time changes and cancellation while the Host remains authorized and connected. Guest exports, older missed events, and recovery after ownership or connection changes are not included.
- Property Managers with an active membership that grants access to the booked property also receive new paid service-provider bookings in their connected Google calendar with a saved selection. Events contain the service, times and a Property Manager booking link, without guest contact details. Time changes and cancellations use the original linked calendar while access and the connection remain valid. A StayPerk account already receiving the Provider or Host event does not receive a duplicate PM event. Removing property access stops further PM synchronization; it does not remove previously exported events. Connecting later or receiving a new assignment does not replay earlier bookings.
- Google events marked Free do not block availability. All-day Google events follow the connected calendar timezone.
- Busy periods from successfully synced ICS feeds are excluded from offered service times. Sync after changing an external calendar; new changes may take time to appear.
- For recurring ICS events, an individual occurrence marked busy blocks time even when the rest of its series is marked free. Individual occurrences marked free or cancelled do not block time.
- Saving a removed feed clears its imported conflicts across your roles. Other feeds and manual blocks remain. Recurring feed imports cover a rolling window, so check sync status before relying on future availability.
- ICS changes to this and future recurring events are not supported yet. If a feed reports this limitation, export individual events or separate recurring series from the source calendar and sync again. StayPerk retains previous imported conflicts; it cannot confirm the changed schedule until a supported feed syncs successfully.
Tips
- Read the Google Calendar and connected calendars section of the Privacy Policy at /privacy for information about calendar access, storage, use, sharing, and connection controls.
Common problems
- If a feed fails, check its link and try Sync now again. StayPerk retains its last known conflicts until a successful refresh or deliberate removal.
- If calendar settings changed during a refresh, reload the latest settings and sync again.
- If Change calendar cannot load your calendars, choose Use primary calendar to save Primary, or keep using Sync now for manual reads. If selection asks you to reconnect, reconnect Google Calendar before trying again.
